FC Stuttgart triumphs over FC St. Pauli with Demirovic scoring a powerful 11-meter goal, demonstrating his unwavering confidence.

In an exciting Bundesliga clash, VfB Stuttgart emerged victorious against FC St. Pauli, securing a 2-0 home win.

The first half of the game saw several key moments. Ermedin Demirovic scored the opening goal for VfB Stuttgart in the 43rd minute, a chip over goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj that proved to be a game-changer. However, Demirovic's goal was initially disallowed due to offside, only to be later confirmed as a valid score.

Sebastian Hoeneß, the VfB Stuttgart coach, made a strategic move by replacing Atakan Karazor with Chema Andreés in central defensive midfield. The young Spanish footballer, a transfer from Real Madrid, made a strong start at Stuttgart during the 2025 season, and his presence was felt on the Karazor position.

FC St. Pauli had their chances, with Louis Oppie hitting the crossbar in the 52nd minute, but it was VfB Stuttgart who continued to press forward. Angelo Stiller missed a penalty for VfB Stuttgart in the 24th minute and a close-range shot against Vasilj in the 28th minute.

The second half of the game saw Bilal El Khannouss score the second goal for VfB Stuttgart in the 50th minute, an effort assisted by Demirovic. Stiller's missed opportunities seemed to haunt FC St. Pauli as they struggled to find a response.

Despite Stiller's misses, Alexander Nübel, the VfB Stuttgart goalkeeper, made two great saves to keep the clean sheet. The running performance of both teams was comparable, with VfB Stuttgart covering similar distances to FC St. Pauli.

Lorenz Assignon played on the right side instead of Josha Vagnoman, and Tiago Tomas replaced Badredine Bouanani in the VfB Stuttgart lineup. Hoeneß demanded a clear improvement in ball play from his team, and his tactics seemed to pay off as VfB Stuttgart controlled the game throughout.

This was a special game for El Khannouss, as his parents were in the stadium for the first time to witness his Bundesliga debut. As the final whistle blew, the VfB Stuttgart players celebrated their well-deserved victory, while FC St. Pauli will be left to reflect on missed opportunities.
