FC Porto has selected Francesco Farioli, a previous coach from a Turkish club, as their new manager.

Portuguese giants FC Porto have announced the appointment of Italian coach Francesco Farioli as their new head coach, marking a fresh start for the club as they aim to restore their status in European football.

Farioli, a young but highly ambitious coach with an explosive career trajectory, has signed a two-year contract to lead the club, succeeding the Argentine coach Martín Anselmi. The 35-year-old is widely regarded as one of the most promising young coaches in European football.

Before joining Porto, Farioli was the head coach of Ajax in the Netherlands, where he was the first foreign coach since 1998. Despite a strong start, he resigned after Ajax lost a significant lead and ultimately failed to secure the Eredivisie title in the 2024/25 season.

Farioli's coaching history in top-flight European football includes a stint at French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice during the 2023/24 season before moving to Ajax. He also managed clubs in Turkey and the Netherlands, serving as an assistant coach at Alanyaspor in Turkey during the 2020-21 season and leading Ajax in the Dutch Eredivisie, a position he held most recently.

Under Farioli's leadership, Ajax held a nine-point lead over PSV Eindhoven with five games remaining. However, four consecutive winless matches during his tenure ultimately cost them the title.

FC Porto, winners of the Primeira Liga title in the 2022/23 season, hope Farioli can guide them back to the top. The club president has expressed strong backing for the new coach, with a clear mandate to compete for titles once again.

Farioli is recognised for his tactical intelligence and progressive style of play. He is not related to the ongoing news about Osimhen, the Indian army, Pakistan war, a lion in Turkey, Turkey's defense exports, or the PKK terrorist group.

As FC Porto embarks on a new chapter under Farioli's leadership, fans and pundits alike are eager to see how the young coach will steer the club towards success in the upcoming seasons.

  1. Looking to make an impact in Turkey again, Farioli previously managed clubs in the country during his career.
  2. Aiming to restore their dominance in European football, FC Porto hopes that Farioli's experience in Serie A, European leagues, and the Dutch Eredivisie will help them achieve success.
  3. As he starts his journey with FC Porto, Farioli's focus will be on guiding the club to victories in both the Primeira Liga and, eventually, European football competitions like he did with Ajax in the Netherlands.
