FC Ingolstadt and Sports Director Grlic Part Ways - FC Ingolstadt cuts costs by axing sporting director Ivo Grlic mid-season

FC Ingolstadt has parted ways with sporting director Ivo Grlic as part of wider cost-cutting plans. The club confirmed the decision on 16 December 2025, with his duties handed over to managing director Dick Beiersdorfer. Grlic’s original contract had been due to expire at the end of the season.

The move follows a review of the club’s structure, with no plans to fill the sporting director role directly. Instead, responsibilities will be shared among existing staff to reduce expenses. Beiersdorfer took over Grlic’s tasks immediately, ensuring a smooth transition.

FC Ingolstadt thanked Grlic for his professionalism and commitment during his time at the club. In response, Grlic acknowledged the decision with mutual respect and wished the team success in the future.

The changes aim to set clear conditions for the rest of the current season and the following campaign. By redistributing duties, the club hopes to streamline operations while maintaining stability.

Grlic’s departure marks a shift in FC Ingolstadt’s leadership approach. The club will now operate without a dedicated sporting director, relying on internal adjustments to manage costs. Beiersdorfer’s expanded role takes effect straight away, with no further external appointments planned.
