The latest setback comes after defender Joel Schmied suffered a muscular system injury in the 2-2 draw with TSG Hoffenheim.

Schmied's issue was confirmed by an MRI scan after he experienced discomfort following the match. His absence adds to the problems, as he becomes the third player ruled out from that single game. Jan Thielmann and Sebastian Sebulonsen had already been sidelined earlier.

Further complications have arisen with Linton Maina missing training due to illness. Fynn Schenten also struggled, only managing individual sessions after falling ill and missing a day's work. Meanwhile, Alessio Castro-Montes, Timo Hübers, and Luca Kilian remain in rehabilitation rather than full training.

Kwasniok's options are shrinking as the squad battles both fitness and health concerns. The growing list of absentees leaves him with limited choices for the Augsburg clash.
