FC Bayern midfielder Goretzka expresses affection for the club, stating, "I adore FC Bayern."
Leon Goretzka Committed to FC Bayern Munich's Future
Munich's national footballer, Leon Goretzka, has affirmed his intention to continue his career with FC Bayern. In an interview with "Die Welt am Sonntag," the 30-year-old midfielder stated, "I don't envision leaving the club. My plan is indeed to play for FC Bayern next season." Goretzka, who has spent nearly seven years with the German record champions, expressed affection for the club and the individuals that make it.
Goretzka's contract with FC Bayern ends following the upcoming season. Though he has been frequently linked with potential transfers, Goretzka, who faced challenges earlier under new Bayern coach Vincent Kompany, ultimately improved during the season and made 40 appearances.
Previously benched by national team coach Julian Nagelsmann for the home European Championship last summer, Goretzka cited it as the biggest career setback. Since then, he has returned to the national team and has been nominated for the Final Four of the Nations League from June 4-8.
A dialogue with Nagelsmann preceded this turnaround, and Goretzka revealed the conversation was crucial during that difficult phase. He also credited Bayern's club patron Uli Hoeneß for his support during that period.
While his contract extension has been a subject of speculation, Bayern has not made any firm commitments regarding the matter. With the current season drawing to a close, there is growing anticipation about the club's intentions for Goretzka's future. Amidst the uncertainty, Goretzka remains hopeful of extending his tenure at the Allianz Arena.
Leon Goretzka's commitment to FC Bayern Munich extends beyond the upcoming season, as he aims to continue his career with European-leagues' premier-league powerhouse. Despite regular transfer speculation, the German national footballer has shown an affection for the club after nearly seven years, making 40 appearances this season.
