FC Bayern Legend's Approach on Given Scenario

Kick it Until the Last:

Yo, it's showtime, and Thomas Müller's time at FC Bayern might just be running out. Every game in the Club World Cup could be his last for the Bavarian giants, but the veteran forward stays positive as ever.

Orlando - The orthopedists have already handed over a parting gift (check out the pic), otherwise the situation remains surreal: Every remaining match in the Club World Cup tourney in the USA could mark Müller's last - not just with Bayern, but perhaps in his football career altogether.

Settling the score begins this Sunday (10 PM, DAZN and SAT.1) against Flamengo Rio de Janeiro. If things go their way, up to three more games could follow: Quarter-finals, semis, and the big final in New York.

"When it ends, it ends."

So, how does the club icon handle this predicament? "I've known for a while, but who cares, mate?" Müller says with his characteristic humor. "I still love playing ball. When it ends, it ends."

But, how soon it ends also depends on Müller's performance and that of his teammates. Against Benfica Lisbon, where he initially lined up centrally in attack and later as a number ten behind Harry Kane, Müller also had an off day. "Occasionally, you just have a crappy game, that's just the way it goes," the veteran explained later. "Reaction in the second half was genius - we won't lose any sleep over it. We played them till they dropped. It could've just as easily been 4-1." Müller's analysis was dead on. However, the question remains: How will this Munich team make sure they don't also flop against Flamengo - instead, they'll play another blinder? "We're a tight knit team with a clear vision," Müller says bravely. "We know what's at stake."

Muller Cracks a Joke: "We're not here to run a virtual Footie Manager"

Against Flamengo, it's all about handling the emotional South American vibes. The German champions will likely outplay them in terms of skill - the new location also helps: In the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, FCB can expect a slightly milder climate and better grass. Neuer, just like Müller, is a tournament veteran with four World Cup appearances.

"The tournament is in full swing. Come on, these 'win or bust' matches are nerve-wracking," Müller explains. "But we're convinced that we'll still be here for a while." Even with a potential quarter-final against PSG, the 35-year-old veteran remains optimistic. Playing 'football manager' (a PC game, by the way) isn't about predicting results for every single game, Müller implies. A quarter-final against Chelsea could've easily been a stumbling block before even reaching the quarters.

"Paris isn't a walk in the park, but we've beaten PSG before," Müller says assertively. But first, there's the Round of 16 against Flamengo on the schedule - it could be Müller's last game in the Bayern jersey.

Thomas Müller's footballing journey might not yet be over, but the 35-year-old is already planning for life after football. His latest venture? A seven-figure investment, along with an investor group, in a children's furniture startup based in Traiskirchen, Lower Austria.

"Poptop is shaking up the kids' furniture game - with style, function, and responsibility," Müller explains in a press statement. "The happy customers, the booming market, and the talented team speak for themselves. This could be massive, and I couldn't be more excited to be a part of it." The startup specializes in adjustable-height children's desks.

Note: Müller's contract with Bayern Munich runs until July 31, 2025, and speculations suggest he might be taking his final bow after the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Reports link him to possible moves in Major League Soccer, notably with Los Angeles FC and Inter Miami[1][2][3], but no definitive deals have been made as of June 2025. Müller remains ready to evaluate various opportunities after his commitments with Bayern conclude, with a preference for projects that offer a clear vision and challenge[4].
