FC Bayern has discovered a potential replacement for Woltemade

Christopher Nkunku, the versatile forward currently at Chelsea, has emerged as a potential alternative for FC Bayern Munich following a series of departures in the offense and a failed pursuit of Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart.

Recent reports suggest that talks have started between the two clubs regarding a possible transfer of Nkunku, with Max Eberl, the sporting director of FC Bayern, in contact with Nkunku's management. However, negotiations appear to be complex, with Chelsea preferring a sale rather than a loan, and Bayern's reluctance to match the full asking price.

The stalled negotiations have reportedly led to talks breaking down after Bayern proposed a loan deal, while Chelsea insists on a permanent sale, asking for around €35 million on top of Bayern’s substantial recent spending. Despite this, Bayern is reportedly willing to return with a permanent transfer offer, competing with clubs like Inter and Newcastle United, indicating ongoing interest.

Nkunku himself is open to a permanent move and has expressed interest in rejoining his former club RB Leipzig, which could also be part of a swap deal involving Xavi Simons. However, these plans for a return to Leipzig have fallen through.

If the transfer happens, Nkunku would likely be integrated as a versatile forward or attacking midfielder, complementing Bayern’s attack by offering creativity, pace, and goal contributions. Given Bayern’s recent focus on youth and reshaping their attack, Nkunku could either be a key experienced option or compete with young prospects for playing time.

Bayern seems to be preparing for Coman’s possible departure and views Nkunku as a target to strengthen their attacking options. However, they might also opt to promote young talent like Lennart Karl and others this season if the deal does not materialize.

Meanwhile, Chelsea's star player, Jamal Musiala, will be out for an extended period due to injury, leaving a void in the attacking lineup. Nkunku, with his goal-scoring abilities, could potentially fill this gap.

At Bayern, Nkunku could find himself playing behind the goal machine, Harry Kane, should the transfer materialize. Kane has been in top form this season, scoring numerous goals for his team.

It's important to note that no official reactions have been made regarding the potential transfer of Nkunku to FC Bayern. The reported transfer fee from Chelsea is 60 million euros.

In the meantime, Bayern has only signed Luis Díaz as a replacement for the departing players, leaving a significant gap in the offense that Nkunku could potentially fill. The future of Bayern's attack will depend on the outcome of the negotiations with Chelsea.
