FC Basel and the Stadion Genossenschaft have ended their long-running dispute over unpaid rent. The conflict was settled through mediation, leading to a revised lease agreement. Both sides have now agreed on new terms for the stadium’s use and commercial operations.

The disagreement began when FC Basel failed to pay rent to the Stadion Genossenschaft, which owns the Joggeli stadium. Tensions grew until June, when the two parties decided to bring in a mediator. While the mediator’s identity remains undisclosed, negotiations involved FC Basel Holding AG, with board member David Degen playing a key role.

The settlement removes a major obstacle for FC Basel and the Stadion Genossenschaft. With payments resolved and a fresh agreement in place, attention now shifts to upgrading the Joggeli. The revised contract provides a framework for collaboration on future projects.
