But what did Comey have to say for himself? In a subsequent Instagram post, he admitted his mistake, explaining that he didn't intend to send a violent message. He removed the offending post, expressing his opposition to all forms of violence.
Yet, President Trump wasn't buying it. He dismissed Comey's explanation, insisting that the former director knew exactly what he was doing. The President didn't shy away from suggesting that Comey should face investigation, leaving the decision up to Attorney General Pam Bondi.
The FBI Director Kash Patel has also weighed in, confirming awareness of the post and cooperation with the Secret Service in their probe. As of now, it's all hearsay, with no formal charges or conclusions made public. But rest assured, the investigation is ongoing.
