Favorites Compete for Victory in the Mountainous 2025 Tour de Romandie Féminin

The Tour de Romandie Féminin is set to make its grand return for its fourth anniversary, taking place from August 15 to 17 in Switzerland. This three-day stage race, covering 249.69km with 3,356m of elevation gain, promises to be an exhilarating event for cycling enthusiasts.

Elise Chabbey, a strong force for FDJ-Suez at the Tour de France Femmes, is a dark horse favourite for the overall classification at the Tour de Romandie Féminin. Meanwhile, Niamh Fisher-Black is a potential option in the overall classification for Lidl-Trek.

Canyon-SRAM zondacrypto has a strong team for the Tour de Romandie Féminin, including Ricarda Bauernfeind, Neve Bradbury, Antonia Niedermaier, Alice Towers, and Anastasiya Kolesava. Femke De Vries, who finished 20th overall at the Tour de France Femmes, has quietly raced into strong performances this season. Nienke Vinke, who captured the young rider competition at the Tour de France and finished 19th overall, could try her hand at a leadership role at the Tour de Romandie Féminin.

Sarah Gigante is positioned as the main favourite for the Tour de Romandie Féminin, looking to rebound from criticism at the recent Tour de France Femmes. Other key contenders for overall victory include Juliette Labous, Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio, and Niamh Fisher-Black, based on their climbing and stage performance history.

Fenix-Deceuninck plans a dual attack with riders like Yara Kastelijn and Pauliena Rooijakkers, both strong climbers and potential threats in the general classification. Strong riders from recent Grand Tours, such as Évita Muzic (fourth at the Tour de France Femmes 2025), could also play a decisive role, especially considering her consistent climbing form in stage races.

The defending champion, Demi Vollering, will not start, but the current world champion is on the provisional reserve list, so her participation remains uncertain. Mavi García, who won a stage at the Tour de France Femmes, will take that confidence into the rest of her season.

Visma-Lease a Bike will have riders to watch for stage wins and the top-10 in the overall classification, including Femke De Vries, Rosita Reijnhout, Viktória Chladoňová, and Maud Oudeman. Rosita Reijnhout was 20th at the Giro and 15th at the Tour of Norway. Maud Oudeman was 12th at Itzulia Women and has shown her capacity for hilly stage races.

Previous winners of the Tour de Romandie Féminin include Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio, Demi Vollering, and Lotte Kopecky. Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio, a former Romandie champion, will be competing in the Tour de Romandie Féminin after missing selection for the Tour de France Femmes squad. Urška Žigart, a teammate of Ashleigh Moolman Pasio, has been climbing impressively this season and could be a contender in the overall battle at the Tour de Romandie Féminin.

The race will feature a short uphill time trial, a summit finish at La Tzoumaz, and a hilly finale in Aigle, favoring pure climbers. The Tour de Romandie Féminin promises to be an exciting event, with several top contenders vying for the overall victory.
