Is 2025 set to be as sensational as 2024 with the new shoe collection and "The Dream Ship"?
Sila Sahin: Frankly, I'm blown away by the opportunities that 2025 has presented me. I'm ecstatic that my shoe collection continues to captivate audiences and returns for its third installment.
What can you share about your role in "The Dream Ship"?
Sahin: While I can't reveal too much, I can assure you that I poured my heart and soul into every scene. My part demanded a level of authenticity, as I was cast to play someone older than my true age. Embracing this challenge was both exciting and rewarding.
Did appearing on "The Dream Ship" also materialize one of your lifelong dreams?
Sahin: Honestly, I had never entertained the notion of performing on "The Dream Ship." Yet, I've known filmmaker Wolfgang Rademann personally, and our meeting at Café Kranzler in Berlin left an indelible impression on me. He talked about me, shared newspaper clippings, and expressed his desire to cast me in a role. Initially, it was just a small part, confined to the land. It's truly satisfying to have filmed on the ship now. Rademann was a television icon, and paying tribute to him through my participation feels truly special. Moreover, the experience of traveling to places like New Zealand and other stunning countries in such a short span of time still feels surreal. It's not just a dream, it's a significant challenge – particularly as a mother of two boys.
Your shoe collection is another dream come true. Are there any standout pieces from the upcoming spring collection that particularly excite you?
Sahin: The latest collection is bursting with trendy and elegant designs, making it challenging to pick favorites. I'm particularly fond of modern Arrus slippers and stylish Brutees sandals with a platform sole. The latter have caught my eye – they come in a popular denim look or a stunning beige tone adorned with sparkling rhinestones, and are unquestionably among my favorites from the "Palado by Sila Sahin" spring/summer collection.
While millions of women worldwide struggle with a shoe obsession, do you share this passion?
Sila Sahin: Absolutely! I adore shoes, and I credit my father for cultivating this affection in me – he, too, had a penchant for footwear. Shoes, particularly high heels and sandals, are my go-to items for shopping sprees.
Apart from footwear, would you consider designing other items as well?
Sahin: Definitely! If given the chance, I'd love to design swimwear, pajamas, or even wedding dresses.
Are there any other projects you're planning for this year?
Sahin: A key ambition for this year is to write and sell my own screenplay to a studio or network.
Will there be a "A.W.Z." reunion or Karl May games appearance this year?
Sahin: As of now, no reunion at the Karl May games is scheduled for 2025. The unique aspect of this production is that the principal actors, excluding Winnetou, rotate each year. The fact that I returned for a second round was a rarity. A return to "A.W.Z." isn't currently in the works, as relocating to Cologne isn't feasible for me at this time.
