Nikolai Efremov, the son of renowned Russian actor Mikhail Efremov and the youngest child of Eugenia Dobrovolskaya, has made a remarkable comeback to the theatre stage after a harrowing accident two years ago.

In 2021, Nikolai, who shares a striking resemblance with his father, suffered severe injuries when he fell from the third floor of his Moscow apartment. The incident left him with complex fractures, an elbow fracture, significant blood loss, and an intra-abdominal hematoma. After nearly three weeks in intensive care and three weeks in the orthopedic and traumatology department, Nikolai has shown remarkable resilience and determination.

Nikolai, named after his paternal grandmother, has returned to work at the "Masterskaya 12" theatre. The theatre, known for its productions, currently has People's Artist Sergey Garmaš playing the main roles. Nikolai himself is a part of two plays at the theatre: "The Inspector General" and "And to You, Happy Holidays".

Mikhail Efremov, who is currently responsible for his grown son, has always been by Nikolai's side, providing support and care throughout his recovery. Despite the accident, Mikhail has not abandoned Nikolai, ensuring he has everything he needs to recover and return to work.

Nikolai lives in a two-room apartment on the Propagandist Prospect (Moscow) that was left to him by his mother, Eugenia Dobrovolskaya, who passed away in January 2025 after battling a serious illness for over a year.

Nikolai is also a father to a 6-year-old daughter named Alla, whose name is significant as it is also the name of his paternal grandmother.

Mikhail Efremov, a well-known figure in the Russian acting community, plans to return to filming in cinema no earlier than 2026. Meanwhile, Nikolai continues to make strides in his career, showcasing his talent and dedication on the theatre stage.
