Tragedy Strikes Milwaukee: High-Speed Crash Claims Three Lives and Leaves Two Hospitalised
A devastating incident occurred in Milwaukee earlier this week, as a high-speed crash claimed the lives of three individuals and left two others hospitalised with serious injuries. The crash, which spanned one mile and lasted less than a minute, has left the community in shock and mourning.
The victims of the crash were identified as Pler Moo, aged 50, Karlah Kri Moo, aged 15, and Moo Nay Taw, aged 21. Pler Moo was described as a hardworking and caring individual, while Karlah and Moo Nay Taw were remembered for their hardworking and supportive natures, respectively.
The crash was initiated by a driver fleeing police in a stolen car. The driver involved in the crash had a troubling history, having previously been arrested for fleeing police in Indiana just two-and-a-half weeks prior to the fatal accident in Milwaukee. A $5,000 bond was paid for the driver one week before the crash.
The Moo family is Karen, an ethnic group from Myanmar that has historically been oppressed by colonial rule. Pler Moo and her husband fled what was then Burma and lived in a refugee camp in Thailand for 10 years, where their children were born. The family was resettled in the United States in 2011 and had been living in Milwaukee for a significant period.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, a vigil was held for the victims earlier this week. A GoFundMe has also been set up to help the victims' family with expenses related to the crash.
Two individuals, a male and a woman, remain hospitalised with serious injuries. The woman's 19th birthday was Thursday. The search results do not provide information about the name of the 19-year-old driver from Indiana who was arrested two weeks before the fatal accident and fled to Milwaukee.
The Milwaukee police have arrested the driver for "fleeing and eluding causing death." The community is left to mourn the loss of three lives and pray for the recovery of the two hospitalised individuals. Our thoughts are with the Moo family during this difficult time.
