A BRIGHT DAY FOR EISENACH SWIMMING:

Under the blazing sun, the "home game" of the Eisenach Swimming & Sports Club saw some fierce competition. A joyous atmosphere filled the Aquaplex sports pool as the 27th Wartburg Critérium took place in unprecedented weather conditions, with temperatures reaching an astonishing 30°C.

Jens Kammler, the club's freshly appointed chairman, expressed his gratitude for the outstanding weather, stating, "It was particularly kind to us this year."

A Pool of Talent Vying for the Medals:

A total of 110 athletes from ten clubs and two regional associations didn't disappoint the spectators, competing in individual and relay events with enthusiasm. Apart from the Eisenach SSV, firms like Rotenburg, Heringen, Leinefelde, Mühlhausen, Beuren, Gera, Hünfeld, and Bad Salzungen were eager to seize victory.

The home team triumphed in most relay events, showcasing their power in teamwork. It was only in the 4x50m freestyle relay for boys that SV Wartburgstadt managed to edge ahead, powered by Pascal Hinz, Zakhar Zviagintsev, Michael Markus Klemm, and Niklas Hellner.

Some rising stars stood out, such as Caroline Penz, Emil Baumbach, and Nora Höft, showering the pool with impressive new personal bests.

Emotional Farewell to Long-serving Board Members:

In the midst of the numerous podium places and breathtaking records, the bittersweet moment of saying goodbye to three long-time board members created a heartfelt atmosphere. Dr. Michael Baumbach took center stage, expressing heartfelt words to the departing board team, consisting of Arnd Müller, Thoralf Rampolt, and Thomas Hollerbuhl. The room felt the raw emotion as some listeners struggled to hold back tears. In front of the appreciative crowd, the retiring trio received thoughtful gifts from Jens Kammler.

During the emotional ceremony, Jens Kammler also acknowledged the invaluable support and collaboration of sports pool GmbH, whose contribution extended beyond providing the pool and co-financing the competition lanes.
