Farotimi Denies Involvement of Afenifere in Seyi's Matter, NANS Affirms

In a shocking turn of events, Dele Faoritimi, a notable figure in Nigerian politics, has asserted that Afenifere, the organization he represents, has no involvement in the statements made concerning Seyi Tinubu's supposed assault incident.

According to our reports, Atiku Abubakar Isah, the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), alleged that Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, had orchestrated a group of thugs to attack him. Although Seyi chose to dismiss these accusations, a faction of Afenifere, led by its spokesperson, Abagun Kole Omololu, accused Isah of spreading false claims.

Omololu further claimed that the incident against Seyi was an attempted proxy war against President Tinubu, his government, and his family by unknown groups. He asserted,

"The obvious conclusion the public should, therefore, draw is that this is a proxy war against the President, his government, and his family by surrogates of the coalition of strange bedfellows cobbled together not for the benefit of Nigeria but to seize power by any means necessary, including sponsoring a vocal local actor like Isah to throw arrows that they are too cowardly to throw using their own names."

When confronted with these statements via a national daily, Farotimi, the National Organizing Secretary of Afenifere, made it clear that his organization had no connection to any statements concerning Seyi Tinubu and NANS. He further added,

"I think you should remember that a man capable of manufacturing bishops should have little problem with creating an Afenifere caricature, which would do his bidding and perform circus tricks for him. The Afenifere to which I belong has nothing to do with this."

This clarification comes as a surprise, given Dele Faoritimi's active role in politics and his commitment to voicing his opinions on critical issues. It remains to be seen how this development will impact the ongoing political climate in Nigeria.
