Men Attack Bus Fare Inspectors in Pforzheim - Fare inspectors assaulted with pepper spray at Pforzheim bus stop

Two fare inspectors were assaulted at a bus stop in Pforzheim on Friday afternoon. The attack involved pepper spray and physical blows, leaving both workers with minor injuries. Police are now searching for witnesses as the suspects remain at large.

The incident unfolded when the inspectors were about to board a bus. Two men, attempting to avoid a fare check, shoved them to the ground. One assailant then struck an inspector in the face before spraying pepper spray at them.

Both attackers fled the scene before police arrived. The injured inspectors were taken to hospital for treatment. Authorities have classified the case as suspected grievous bodily harm.

This assault follows rising concerns over the safety of transport staff. In February, a fatal attack on a public transport worker heightened fears. While exact figures for recent incidents are unavailable, Deutsche Bahn has reported a steady increase in assaults on employees over several years.

The two assailants are still being sought by police. Witnesses to the attack have been urged to come forward. The incident has added to ongoing worries about violence against transport workers in Germany.
