AfD's "Destruction Will" Over Secured Extremist Label in Brandenburg
Far-right label charged with destructive motives by the AfD party - Far-right party AfD exhibits "intent to dismantle" in categorization
Things got heated in Potsdam's Innenausschuss when AfD state parliament members in Brandenburg learned about their party's classification as a "gesichert rechtsextremistische Bestrebung" (secured extremist endeavor) by the regional Office for the Protection of the Constitution. The AfD's representative, Lena Kotré, called the classification "hanebüchen" (absurd), while her colleague, Wilko Möller, flat-out told the masses they should be wiped out using covert intelligence methods. He spoke of a "pure destruction will."
The conversation took a heated turn with SPD-Abgeordnete. Andreas Noack addressed Daniel Freiherr von Lützow, an AfD member, saying, "You're the wolf in sheep's clothing. You're attacking this constitution. Even though you've been democratically elected, you're still far from being a democrat for a long time." Von Lützow responded by calling it a "smear theater" and insisted he upholds the constitution.
Brandenburg's AfD was upgraded to this extremist classification in April, but State Minister Katrin Lange (SPD) only found out about the changed evaluation weeks later, on May 5th. She believes it should have been immediately available to her, so she terminated Jörg Müller, the head of the local Office for the Protection of the Constitution, on Tuesday, citing a lack of mutual trust. Previously, the AfD-Landespartei in Brandenburg had only been classified as a "Verdachtsfall" (suspect case).

Insight: Wilko Möller's statement hints at a deep-rooted perception among some AfD members that the government, specifically the SPD, is attempting to politically erase them using underhanded methods. This sentiment stems from the AfD's belief that they are being unfairly targeted due to their political ideology, leading them to resist such classifications as politically motivated smear campaigns against the party[1].
