Fanduel and Delaware North form strategic cooperation to gain entry in West Virginia's gambling market
FanDuel Partners with Delaware North in West Virginia
FanDuel, a leading online gaming and betting company, has announced a new partnership with Delaware North, a gaming, hospitality, and entertainment leader. This alliance will see FanDuel expand its operations in West Virginia, with market access secured through Delaware North's Mardi Gras Casino and Resort.
Jonathan Edson, FanDuel's Business Development Senior Vice President, expressed his excitement about the partnership. He believes that Delaware North, with its long-standing reputation in gaming and hospitality, is an ideal partner for FanDuel as they continue to operate in West Virginia. Lee Terfloth, Delaware North's Chief Interactive Gaming Officer, shares this sentiment, stating that the partnership represents the best of what Delaware North strives for, bringing trusted, innovative experiences to customers.
Terfloth went on to say that Delaware North is very proud to be partnered with FanDuel in West Virginia. The deal covers both iGaming and online sports betting, marking a significant expansion for FanDuel in the region.
While FanDuel secures market access through Delaware North's Mardi Gras Casino and Resort, it will continue to operate its retail sportsbook at the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. The Mardi Gras Casino and Resort, a renowned premier entertainment and gaming destination located in Cross Lanes, West Virginia, will serve as the hub for FanDuel's online operations in the state.
This partnership comes at an exciting time for FanDuel, who recently announced the appointment of Keith Whyte to the role of Responsible Gaming Strategic Advisor. The company has also confirmed the launch of its new peer-to-peer fantasy sports product, FanDuel Picks, late last month.
FanDuel continues to expand its footprint across the United States, with this deal in West Virginia being the latest in a series of strategic partnerships and market expansions. The company's commitment to innovation and customer experience, combined with Delaware North's expertise in gaming and hospitality, promises an exciting future for both companies and their customers in West Virginia.
The partnership was officially signed on Thursday this week, securing Delaware North as a market access partner for FanDuel's online sports betting and iGaming operations in West Virginia, effective from 2025.
