Since 2015, Daredevil has been a small screen titan, sprawled across Netflix and Disney+ shows. For the past decade, fans have kept this brooding hero alive on TV, and actor Charlie Cox believes the very same passion could see ol' hornhead adorn the silver screen once more.
In a recent chat at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, Cox admitted he was the last person to enlighten us about the likelihood of a Daredevil film - it's left to the 'grown-ups', that is, Disney and Marvel. He suggested everyone write letters to these bigwigs for a better chance. Now, Cox isn't exactly known for telling the truth when it comes to embodying this character. If there was ever an ideal time to bring Matt Murdock back to the big screen, fans believe it's now. Recent events have reunited audiences with Jennifer Garner's Elektra (from the 2003 Daredevil and her solo flick), and delays to projects such as Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars suggest the old X-Men could be back for a farewell bow. And if not, there's always Spider-Man: Cox has already revived the role for the animated Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Brand New Day in 2026.
Where will Daredevil surface next, assuming his own show doesn't return in 2026? Cox expressed his eagerness to continue Matt's tale and remains "overjoyed to be here." Clearly, fans are ready to accompany him in whichever cinematic odyssey unfolds.
