Fan Support for a Daredevil Film May Spur Charlie Cox into Action
Daredevil: The Man Without Fear Takes On the Small Screen and Beyond
For six years, Daredevil has graced our screens with his intense and gripping storylines on both Netflix and Disney+. Fans have kept this iconic character alive on television for over a decade, and it seems that actor Charlie Cox believes the passion for ol' hornhead is strong enough to bring him back to the big screen.
During a recent interview at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, Cox shared his thoughts on the chances of a Daredevil film. He stated he was the "worst person to ask" since he knows nothing about it. Any queries should go to the bigwigs, aka Disney and Marvel. In typical Cox fashion, he advised, "Write letters, just everyone write letters." For him, the small-screen show isn't far removed from the cinematic experience, as the cast and crew watched the first two episodes of every season in theaters – something he thinks the series deserves for everyone, not just those behind the scenes.
Now, Cox could easily be pulling our legs – he's quite skilled at that when playing Daredevil. However, given the recent developments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), a big-screen Daredevil venture seems possible. Jennifer Garner's Elektra, last seen in the 2003 Daredevil and her own movie, reappeared in Deadpool and Wolverine, paving the way for other MCU crossovers. With the release of Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027) delayed, the old X-Men may make a comeback for one last hurrah, and if not then, maybe Spider-Man. Cox has already donned the red suit for the animated Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026).
Whether Daredevil will appear in other MCU projects outside of his own show returning in 2026, Cox seems eager to share Matt Murdock's story and remains "so thrilled to be here." And if this excitement is any indication, fans are ready to join him wherever his next great adventure lies.
According to various speculations, fans can expect to see Cox's Daredevil in other MCU projects, such as Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Although no official confirmations have been made for these appearances, the integration of former Netflix characters into the broader MCU gives promise to potential crossovers. Similarly, Daredevil's return in 2026 for the second season of Daredevil: Born Again might include guest appearances from other Marvel heroes. 🦸♂️
