Fan support could potentially spark a Daredevil film's development, as per Charlie Cox's beliefs.
Daredevil Keeps Roaring Across Screens
Over the past decade, Daredevil has been a force to be reckoned with on both Netflix and Disney+. The beloved character's small-screen saga has captivated fans, and it seems actor Charlie Cox believes this passion could pave the way for ol' hornhead to return to the big screen.
In an interview at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, Cox admitted he was the wrong person to ask about the prospects of a Daredevil movie since he's in the dark about the decision-making process. He advised fans to "make their voices heard" by addressing their questions to the powers-that-be - Disney and Marvel.
While letting on that the show shared certain cinematic qualities, as the cast and crew were treated to theater screenings of the first two episodes of every season, Cox thinks it's time for everyone to experience the show in theaters, not just its creators.
Now, Cox could be playing coy, but if there's ever been a prime moment to transition him to the silver screen, this would be it. The reintroduction of Jennifer Garner's Elektra in Deadpool & Wolverine and the delay of Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars have sparked speculation about bringing the old X-Men back for a final hurrah. And even if those franchises don't pan out, there's always the Spider-Man universe; Cox has already cropped up in both the animated Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and, rumor has it, Spider-Man: Brand New Day set for 2026.
Regardless of where Daredevil makes his next appearance outside of his own show Daredevil: Born Again, slated for a 2026 return, Cox remains eager to carry on Matt Murdock's story. Fans, it seems, are more than willing to follow him wherever his adventures take him.
