Fan support could potentially spark a Daredevil film, believes Charlie Cox

Since 2015, the character of Daredevil has been a staple on small screens, with appearances in two Netflix and Disney+ series. Fans have kept the vigilante alive on television for over a decade, and actor Charlie Cox, who portrays the title character, believes this fan passion could contribute to a potential return of Daredevil on the big screen.

In a recent interview at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, Cox expressed his limited knowledge about the possibility of a Daredevil movie, stating that any queries or demands should be directed to Disney and Marvel Studios. He encouraged fans to express their desires for a cinematic comeback by writing letters. Cox shared his belief that the theatrical experience would be fitting for the show, as the cast and crew had the opportunity to watch the first two episodes of each season in theaters.

While Cox's enthusiasm for a Daredevil film may not be entirely truthful—a trait he is known for when portraying this character—fans are optimistic about the possibility, considering the recent reintroduction of characters such as Jennifer Garner's Elektra in Deadpool and Wolverine, as well as the delay and potential resurgence of the X-Men in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. There is also the possibility of Daredevil making an appearance in future Spider-Man projects, as Cox has previously reprised the role in the animated Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and is scheduled to return in Spider-Man: Brand New Day in 2026.

As of now, the only confirmed upcoming project for Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the series Daredevil: Born Again, set for release in late 2025[1]. While no further crossovers or appearances in Marvel films have been officially announced, previous cameos and appearances in series such as She-Hulk: Attorney at Law suggest that more collaborations could be on the horizon.

Regardless of the future of the character, Cox remains enthusiastic about the opportunity to continue portraying Matt Murdock. "I'm so thrilled to be here," Cox remarked, indicating his readiness to continue telling the story of Daredevil, with fans eager to follow his journey wherever it may lead.
