Daredevil's Return to the Big Screen? Actor Charlie Cox Lends His Voice

Ever since 2015, the gritty and intense world of Daredevil has taken the small screen by storm, appearing in two series on Netflix and Disney+. Over a decade, fans have been viscerally invested in this blind, vigilante superhero, and actor Charlie Cox believes the same intense passion could land ol' hornhead back on the big screen.

During an interview at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, Cox chuckled, sharing he was the "worst person to ask" about the likelihood of a Daredevil movie. Any inquiries should be directed to the bigwigs, such as Disney and Marvel, he advised. As for his preferred action, Cox urged fans to "write some damn letters!", expressing his hope that fan enthusiasm could sway the powers-that-be.

For Cox, the series feels remarkably cinematic; during the creation of each season, the cast and crew were treated to seeing the first two episodes in theaters. In his opinion, it's only fair that fans get a shot at the big-screen experience too, rather than just the makers of the show.

Now, while Cox might have a reputation for pulling the wool over viewers' eyes when portraying this character, it could be the perfect time to move Daredevil to the silver screen. Jen Garner's Elektra has already made a surprising appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine, and the long-delayed Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars might bring back the old X-Men one last time. And if neither of those works out, there's always Spider-Man. Cox has already reprised his Daredevil role in the animated Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and a future Spider-Man: Brand New Day in 2026 isn't out of the question.

Wherever Daredevil resurfaces, outside of his series slated to return in 2026, Cox seems eager to continue the tale of Matt Murdock. "Life's too short not to enjoy this rollercoaster," he quipped. And with fans raring to hop on, it seems Cox and Daredevil are an unstoppable duo.

(Enrichment: Charlie Cox, who plays Matt Murdock/Daredevil, has expressed enthusiasm for a potential solo Daredevil film. However, he emphasized that he has no insight into Marvel's future plans. Cox suggested that fans could impact Marvel's decision by demonstrating their support. The actor is currently involved in filming the series Daredevil: Born Again, reprising his role as Murdock in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The lack of concrete updates on a solo movie doesn't diminish Cox's hope that fan demand could make a difference, similar to the impact they had on his return post the initial Netflix series cancellation.)
