Family tragedy in Jabalpur: Father murdered by sons in family dispute, his body found dumped in a canal with bound legs.
In a shocking turn of events, two brothers, Santosh (28) and Ajay (25), have been arrested for the alleged murder of their father, Girni Kumar Chakravarti, in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.
The incident occurred in Majhgawan's Agaria village on the evening of August 10, following a family dispute. According to reports, the dispute was triggered by the father's drunken assault on family members.
The accused allegedly beat their father to death, tied his hands, and then disposed of his body in a nearby canal where he drowned. The body was recovered 36 hours later on Tuesday morning, around 10 km from the village.
The investigation into the murder revealed the involvement of both brothers. They confessed to their crimes during police interrogation and were presented in court after a murder case was filed against them.
The motive behind the murder appears to be a property dispute, according to police reports and investigations. The accused had regular quarrels with their father over family property, which escalated to the murder on that fateful night.
