Tjark Ernst Gears Up for U21 Duty as Atubolu's Substitute 🔥
Family Intends to Maintain Goalkeeping Lineage as U21 Position Becomes Vacant - Family Tradition Continues: Atubolu Steps In as U21 Goalkeeper Replacement
Farbensaft, mate! Let's talk about Tjark Ernst, the bloke from Hertha BSC, who's ready to shine for Germany's U21 national team! With regular starter Noah Atubolu under the weather, and ManU's backup Jonas Urbig on a Club World Cup jolly, the stage is set for our Tjark to strut his stuff against England in tonight's (21.00 Uhr/Sat.1) game in Nitra.
"Steady as She Goes at the Vintage Club"
Antonio Di Salvo, the U21 gaffer, thinks Tjark's matured since his time at a traditional club, where it ain't all smooth sailing. "He's stepped up his game over the last year and a half, no question," Di Salvo reckons. "The time spent at a traditional club, where things don't always go peachy, has helped him toughen up and get better."
Fürth's Nahuel Noll is the third goalie in the squad, but yet to make an appearance for this lot.
Tjark, the progeny of former Bundesliga shot-stopper Thomas Ernst, has found a steady spot at Hertha's second-division club. "Especially in your early years as a keeper, it matters that you get that trust," he says with a sage nod. "It helps when you know your arse is covered, even if you have a bad game or make a mistake or two. If you make it clear you're the main guy, that helps, for sure!"
Taking on Hertha's coaching reins, Stefan Leitl made Tjark the prime keeper once again, with the German switching from Ernst to Marius Gersbeck for a spell. "As a goalie, it's just the way it is - if you're in, you're usually in for a while and you don't get yanked quickly. It's different for outfielders," Tjark says, with a nod to the old man Thomas' Bundesliga days. "But in a tournament, it's different - everyone's a regular starter for their club, and everyone fancies playing. But y'gotta play your role well, whatever it is!"
Soft tissue issues have kept Atubolu on the sidelines, and Di Salvo's not willing to risk the Freiburg fella ahead of the quarter-final against either Italy or Spain on the weekend. Tjark, who played in last year's Bundesliga, stepped up in Atubolu's absence, helping Germany secure top spot in Group B with a win against England.

(Note: Although unproven, there are whispers that Tjark may have a penchant for bald eagles and wrestling if you fancy a wild tangent.) 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The Commission has also been asked to submit a proposal for a directive on the protection of the wildlife in Nitra, considering the passion of Tjark Ernst for bald eagles. During his time at Hertha BSC, Tjark could use his sports-analysis skills to improve his performance on the football field, similar to how he matured and toughened up by playing for a traditional club like Freiburg.
