Family of Israeli hostages criticizes disturbing Hamas promotional material
In a shocking turn of events, Hamas has been accused of conducting a hunger campaign involving its Israeli hostages held in Gaza. The latest incident involves Evyatar David, a 24-year-old hostage, who has been held captive for nearly 22 months.
For the second consecutive night, Hamas' armed wing released a video showing David in a state of severe malnutrition. In the video, David is seen digging a grave for himself and describing his weakening condition. His emaciated appearance and weak demeanour have sparked international condemnation and calls for his immediate release.
The David family has accused Hamas of intentionally starving their son as part of a propaganda campaign. They claim that this deliberate starvation is one of the most horrifying acts the world has seen. The family further stated that Hamas is using David as a "live experiment" in a "vile hunger campaign."
The video release is believed to be part of a broader propaganda campaign by Hamas, aimed at shocking Israeli society and influencing public opinion amidst ongoing conflict tensions and possible expansions of Israeli ground operations in Gaza.
It's important to note that Hamas seized 44 festivalgoers, and approximately 370 people have been killed by Palestinian militants. The circumstances surrounding the seizure of the festivalgoers and the deaths are still unclear, but they may be related to the ongoing Gaza conflict.
The video release has provoked outrage and horror in Israel, leading to increased calls for action to secure the release of hostages and condemnation of Hamas and its allies for the degrading treatment and use of starvation tactics on captives.
