Family of Eight Rescued from Flooded Orchard in Kampung Wang Perah

A family of eight, including a young boy, was rescued from a flooded orchard in Kampung Wang Perah, near Jitra, by the Kedah Fire and Rescue Department. The rescue operation was successfully completed at 10.32pm on Monday evening, with all rescued individuals unharmed.

The rescue operation began after an emergency call at 8.11pm reporting that the family was trapped by rising floodwaters. A team from the Bukit Kayu Hitam Fire and Rescue Station swiftly responded to the distress call. They managed to rescue four men, three women, and a boy estimated to be between 10 and 12 years old. The water levels of a nearby river had surged, leaving the victims stranded and unable to leave the area.

The rescued family was handed over to the police for further assistance. The swift response and successful rescue operation by the Kedah Fire and Rescue Department ensured the safety of the family.
