In the heart of Vienna, a tragic incident unfolded on Tuesday evening that has left the community in shock. The suspect in this family shooting was identified as Nenad M., a 44-year-old Serbian man.

According to reports, Nenad M. was under a firearms ban, but managed to obtain the weapon used in the incident. The ban was imposed around ten years ago following an incident involving his wife, as reported by APA.

Nenad M. allegedly shot and killed his 44-year-old wife and his 24-year-old daughter. His daughter's 26-year-old boyfriend was also injured in the shooting. Sadly, the daughter has since passed away from her injuries, a fact confirmed by the General Hospital.

The incident took place in the Vienna-Leopoldstadt district. In a heart-wrenching turn of events, a baby and a toddler belonging to the 24-year-old woman were present during the shooting. Thankfully, they were unharmed.

The suspected shooter fled the scene, but was later found dead after an exchange of gunfire with police. The children are currently being cared for by an aunt.

The ORF broadcaster reported that jealousy and the separation were the suspected motives for the shooting, as stated by the 26-year-old man. He was not in critical condition, according to police.

This tragedy serves as a grim reminder of the devastating impact of gun violence. Our thoughts are with the victims' families and the entire Vienna community as they navigate through this difficult time.
