Family feud unfolds on location
In a thrilling semifinal match, Scone and Copilot emerged victorious, securing their places in the final of the prestigious Jockey Club Open.
The semifinal between Scone and Kazak started with a tight battle, with Kazak taking an early 2-0 lead. However, Scone fought back, leveling the score at 4-4 before the end of the third chukker. The match remained close, with both teams trading goals, until Scone clinched an 8-6 victory in the sixth chukker.
Scone's success was built on a solid team performance. Mia Cambiaso, who replaced David Paradice, contributed two goals, while Lucas Monteverde, Félix Esain, and Tomás Panelo scored nine, seven, and nine goals, respectively. Esain, who stepped in for Adolfo Cambiaso (son) at the last moment, was a standout player for Scone.
On the other hand, Copilot took on La Hache in their semifinal match. The first half of the game saw Copilot taking a 3-1 lead, which they extended to 5-3 by the end of the third chukker. La Hache fought back, but Copilot held on to win 13-9.
Copilot's success was largely due to the impressive performance of Jeta Castagnola, who scored eight goals in the match. Camilo Castagnola and Facundo Pieres also contributed significantly, scoring ten and five goals, respectively. However, Hilario Ulloa, Camilo Castagnola, and Facundo Pieres were noted for their indisciplines and fouls.
The referee for both Scone and Copilot's semifinal matches was Hernán Tasso. The umpires for Scone's match were Gaston Lucero and Rafael Silva, while Guillermo Villanueva and Gonzalo López Vargas officiated Copilot's match.
La Hache, the defending champions, have decided to abdicate, leaving Scone and Copilot to battle it out for the title. The Canuelas cousins will face each other in the final, which is scheduled for Friday at 2 pm on court 1 of the San Isidro Jockey Club.
Jeta Castagnola and Tommy Panelo will also be teaming up in the upcoming Triple Crown. The stage is set for an exciting finale to the Jockey Club Open.
