Fall Weather Arrives in Philadelphia; Atlantic Hurricanes Brewing
Fall weather has officially arrived in the Philadelphia region, with temperatures starting to cool down. Meanwhile, the Atlantic is seeing some hurricane activity, but the Philadelphia area remains dry.
The week began with temperatures in the 50s and near 60 on Wednesday. However, a cool spell is expected to set in by Thursday and Friday morning, with temperatures dropping to the widespread 40s and low 50s. This cool snap is due to clear skies, which will also help temperatures rise back up by the weekend.
The Atlantic is currently active with Hurricane Imelda strengthening as it approaches Bermuda. Meanwhile, Hurricane Humberto continues to weaken to the north. Locally, high pressure will stick around for a few days, pushing temperatures up to the low 80s by the weekend and mid-80s by early next week. Despite the warm-up, rip currents and rough surf will be felt on and along all beaches and shore points, so boaters should proceed with caution.
The Philadelphia region can expect a mix of cool and warm temperatures this week, with no rain in sight until at least Wednesday of next week. As always, stay informed about any weather updates that may affect your plans.
