The image shows an advertisement for a woman in a dress with the words "Le Neos" written on it. The woman is standing in the center of the poster, with text surrounding her. She is wearing a long, flowing dress with a high neckline and long sleeves, and her hair is pulled back in a bun. Her facial features are delicate and her eyes are looking off to the side, giving her a gentle and serene expression.

Fake Versace and L'Oréal Ads Spark Outrage Using Kelly Osbourne's Image

False adverts claiming Kelly Osbourne as the new face of Versace and L'Oréal spread online in early March. The posts used misleading images and branding, sparking confusion among fans. No official campaign announcement had been made by either brand at the time.

The rumours surfaced during a period of heightened online scrutiny over Osbourne's appearance and weight. She has previously spoken out against internet users commenting on her body, making the false claims particularly controversial.

Two viral posts fuelled the speculation. One, from an account called 'Realms of Absolute Power,' shared an unflattering image of Osbourne, falsely presenting it as her new L'Oréal advert. Another, from 'Celeb Talk Girl,' claimed both Kelly and her mother, Sharon Osbourne, were the new faces of Versace.

Neither brand confirmed the claims. Versace typically announces new ambassadors through official channels, such as press releases and social media, as seen with the appointment of Pieter Mulier as artistic director. L'Oréal follows a similar approach, using corporate statements and verified platforms to share campaign news.

Osbourne has no history of modelling for either Versace or L'Oréal. However, she does have a genuine background in fashion, having launched her own clothing lines and received awards for her style. The false claims, therefore, stood out as particularly misleading.

The incident highlights how quickly misinformation can spread, especially when targeting public figures. Osbourne has repeatedly criticised online users for focusing on her appearance, adding another layer of frustration to the situation.

The fake adverts were never verified by Versace or L'Oréal. Both brands maintain strict communication protocols for campaign announcements, ensuring official statements are released through trusted channels. The episode serves as a reminder of how easily distorted claims can gain traction online, particularly when tied to high-profile individuals.
