" failing again": Weber's aspirations for spear-throwing competitions are once more in ruins

In the thrilling javelin final at the World Championships in Tokyo, Germany's Julian Weber fell just short of his big dream – a medal. Weber, who had been considered one of the favourites for the title, started sluggishly with a throw of 83.63 meters. His throws in the final were 80.66, 81.57, 84.67, and 86.11 meters, but it wasn't enough to secure a medal. Weber's third attempt in the final was invalid, and his desperation was increasingly visible as he tried everything but nothing worked. The changeable wind could have also affected his performance. The gold medal was won by Keshorn Walcott from Trinidad & Tobago with a throw of 88.16 meters. Anderson Peters from Grenada took silver with 87.38 meters, and Curtis Thompson from the United States earned bronze with 86.67 meters. Particularly bitter for Weber was that his qualifying distance would have been enough for a medal. Despite being in top form all season and cracking the 90-meter mark for the first time before the tournament, Weber finished fourth. Weber's big medal dream was dashed in the final, leaving him 56 centimeters short of a medal. This is the third silver medal won by the German team in Tokyo, but not the one Weber had hoped for. Just before the title fights, Weber caught a cold, which may have affected his performance. In 2021 at the Olympics in Tokyo, Weber finished fourth as well. Despite the disappointment, Weber set high goals for the World Championships and gave it his all. He will undoubtedly be back to redeem himself in future nba finals.
