Facts about Grant Forrest: Unveiling 24 Unknown Aspects of the Scottish Golfer
Grant Forrest: A Rising Star in the World of Golf
Grant Forrest, a Scottish golfer born in Livingston, West Lothian, on June 19, 1993, has made a significant impact in the world of golf. Forrest started playing golf at the tender age of five and honed his skills at Craigelaw Golf Club in Scotland.
Forrest's journey in professional golf began at the end of 2016. His first pro debut was at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. However, it was his amateur career that truly set him apart. At the age of 15, Forrest first represented Scotland, and his performances were nothing short of impressive.
In 2009, Forrest won the Scottish Boys U16 Stroke Play. This was followed by his victory in the Scottish Boys Golf Championship in 2010. His amateur career reached its peak in 2012 when he won the Scottish Amateur.
Forrest's achievements in the amateur circuit did not go unnoticed. He was twice a part of the Scotland team that won the European Amateur Team Championship, in 2015 and 2016. In 2015, he also helped Team GB&I secure a 16.5 - 9.5 victory at the Walker Cup, their most recent win.
Forrest's amateur career culminated in a close call at the Amateur Championship in 2015, where he lost the final to Romain Langasque. The same year, he qualified for The Open Championship at Muirfield.
Forrest's journey at the University of San Diego was equally successful. He won four collegiate titles in two years, majoring in Business. His hard work and dedication paid off when he earned his place on the DP World Tour in 2018, finishing seventh on the Challenge Tour Rankings.
Forrest's professional career saw its first major milestone in 2019, when he secured his maiden professional victory at the Hero Open, held at Fairmont St Andrews. His second DP World Tour win came in 2025 at the Nexo Championship in Aberdeen, Scotland, where he won with a total score of eight under par, winning by four shots. This performance was highlighted by a third-round course record of 66 and strong play in challenging windy conditions.
Despite his success, Forrest has yet to make the cut at a Major in three attempts. He made his US Open debut in 2024 after a second Open Championship start in 2018. For detailed records of his major championship performances, especially at the US Open and The Open Championship, those would likely need to be obtained from official golf major tournament records or comprehensive player profiles on major golf databases.
Forrest's personal life is as impressive as his professional one. He married long-time girlfriend, Christy Farrell on December 29th, 2023, and welcomed their first baby, Spencer on November 17th, 2024. Forrest also owns an Artic Grey Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS.
