Piastri's time of 1:12.387, completed across 14 laps, was over seven tenths of a second faster than second-placed Charles Leclerc of Ferrari. Norris, who made a mistake in a corner but managed to avoid damaging his vehicle, was 526 thousandths of a second slower.

Behind the McLaren duo, George Russell of Mercedes claimed the fourth fastest time, just ahead of four-time world champion Max Verstappen of Red Bull. Both drivers finished almost a second behind Piastri.
Veteran Spanish driver Fernando Alonso managed to enter the 'Top 10' with the eighth fastest time, while fellow Spaniard Carlos Sainz finished 13th. Argentine Franco Colapinto and Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto, driving for Alpine and Sauber respectively, will need to improve their performance in qualifying, with finish positions of 11th and 17th respectively.
In terms of qualifying favoritism, Piastri and Norris appear to be the top contenders, based on their impressive performances during previous sessions. Max Verstappen, known for his consistency, is also a strong candidate.
