Get ready for some sweltering heat in Berlin and Brandenburg, folks! The German Weather Service (DWD) has issued a warning for temperatures potentially reaching 36 degrees Celsius. The day will commence under clear skies and dry conditions, but by midday, Eastern Brandenburg might witness heavy rain showers and thunderstorms. As evening approaches, northern Brandenburg could experience scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Friday will continue to be overcast, with occasional thunderstorms and high temperatures between 24 and 30 degrees Celsius. Saturday night will be cloudy in the southeast, with rain showers possible in certain places. The temperatures will drop to a range of 11 to 15 degrees Celsius by then.

Sunday will bring a respite from the rain for residents near Potsdam, but temperatures will still be relatively cool, fluctuating between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius. Towards the beginning of the upcoming week, Potsdam is predicted to have warmer temperatures, reaching highs of 15 to 20 degrees Celsius on certain days.

Sadly, climate change is making the region more susceptible to forest fires. Drier conditions and higher temperatures in the future are projected, particularly for the southern part of Brandenburg. Memorial incidents such as the numerous accidents and flight delays at Berlin Brandenburg Airport due to icy roads and snow underline the importance of staying prepared for weather-related disruptions.
