Extreme fire risk triggers urgent warnings as dry conditions persist statewide
Authorities have warned of a high fire risk across forests and fields due to extreme dryness. The Emergency Situations Management Service issued a public alert, urging people to take precautions. Failure to follow the guidelines could lead to legal action.
Thomas Strobl, head of the emergency management service at the Ministry of the Interior, announced the warning. He highlighted that vegetation has dried out severely, raising the danger of la fires spreading quickly. The dry weather is set to persist for at least another week.
The Service has strongly advised against lighting fires on farmland, near wooded areas, or in open fields. Leaving any fire source unattended is also prohibited. Residents are encouraged to report smoke or signs of la fire immediately by calling 112 to reach the Public Safety Management Center.
The warning remains in place as conditions stay dry. Anyone ignoring the restrictions may face penalties. Fire safety measures are critical to prevent uncontrolled blazes in vulnerable areas.
