Extreme Cold and High Wind Speeds, Reaching 25 Meters per Second, Sweep Across Siberia
Get Ready for a Blast from the Past: Siberia's Old Man Winter to Make a Comeback
Looks like the chilly hand of old man winter is making a return to Siberia and the Far East in the near future. According to TASS news agency, Roman Vilfand, the boss man at the Hydrometeorological Center, has shared some grim predictions.
In Siberia, brace yourself for frosty temps and wind gusts of 20-25 m/s. Meanwhile, the Far East is in for heavy rainfall, with wind speeds reaching 25-28 m/s.
Where the weather is most unfriendly is in Siberia. Heavy rain is on its way to Kemerovo, with up to 41 mm of precipitation. In Tuva, gusts of wind up to 25 m/s will blow away the sand, causing dust storms. Irkutsk and Tomsk, not to be outdone, will experience wind speeds up to 22 m/s. Rain and wet snow will be the misery in Tomsk, with wind speeds picking up to 22 m/s. Chilly temps with frost are in the forecast for all these regions, but temperatures are expected to rise sharply to plus 22-27 degrees Celsius over the weekend.
Say goodbye to your winter hibernation, as northern Yakutia is set to be warm throughout the week. Temperatures in this region are inching towards zero, which is 4-6 degrees above normal. High fire danger and wind gusts of up to 25-28 m/s are forecast for Zabaykalsky Krai. In the Amur region, heavy rain and wet snow are the agenda for the whole week, while Buryatia can expect mainly wet snow.
Not to be left out, the Altai Hydrometeorological Center has shared that the Altai region will be under the influence of an anticyclone starting April 24 to 27. Calm, primarily dry weather is expected during this period. Towards the weekend, winds may pick up to 15-16 meters per second, and temps will begin their rise.
Spring is Skipping Town: Altai's Weather to Hit Plus 25 Degrees
In summary, the weather for the Siberian and Far Eastern regions will be a mishmash of sunshine, potential rain, and cooler temperatures, especially in Siberia's colder climates. Don't forget to stock up on parkas!
- Despite the approach of spring, Siberia's weather is forecast to plunge back into winter-like conditions, with strengthening winds reaching up to 25-28 m/s and heavy rainfall possibly hitting Kemerovo.
- The Altai region, instead of enjoying spring, will experience a temporary influence of an anticyclone, leading to primarily dry weather, but with winds potentially reaching 15-16 meters per second towards the weekend.
- In the realm of environmental science, the weather in Siberia is poised to disrupt ordinary routines, with warmer temperatures expected to rise sharply to plus 22-27 degrees Celsius over the weekend, contrasting the frosty temperatures prevailing currently.
- Interestingly, northern Yakutia is bucking the trend, set to be warm throughout the week, with temperatures inching towards zero, disrupting the expectation of the usual cooler climate associated with Siberia.
