According to Euro News, the Kerch bridge, unlawfully constructed by Russia following its one-sided annexation of the Ukrainian peninsula in 2014, stands as a key bridge in Crimea. Ukrainian media have confirmed that extensive preparations for this clandestine operation were meticulously executed over several months.

In the official statement disseminated through Telegram, the SBU declared, "Our specialists mined the very foundation of this lawless construction." The first explosion was activated at 4:44 a.m. without causing any reported civilian loss.

Ukraine's Persistent Challenge

In the October 2022 attacks, a truck bomb sent shockwaves through the bridge. Sea drones were the culprits during the July 2023 attack, leaving its defense forces struggling to protect it.
