Let's Stroll Through Rosa Luxemburg's Berlin

The gritty spirit of Rosa Luxemburg is still very much alive in Berlin, Germany, where she spent the last two decades of her influential life.Fresh from her arrival in 1898, she described the city as "cold, tasteless, massive - a real barracks." But for our sake, let's dive into the vibrant history that was Born in this metropolis.

Fast-forward to January 15, 1919, and we find Rosa, an iconic figure of the political left, brutally murdered by proto-fascist paramilitaries under the orders of a social democratic government. 105 years later, we're going to uncover the city's historical underbelly, revisiting the homes, hideouts, and revolutionary hotspots that shaped Rosa Luxemburg's inspirational journey.

Here's where our adventure begins: head to Mehringplatz in Kreuzberg, on the north side of the square at the exit of U6 Hallesches Tor, where the escalator goes up toward Friedrichstraße. Gather with us at 2 PM sharp, and let's set off on this electrifying journey through history. Keep in mind we'll need two-trip tickets for Berlin AB ahead of time.

After approximately 2.5 hours, our tour will come to an end in Friedenau. The ride includes a couple of U-Bahn trips, so mind your pockets and make sure your passenger cap is secure!

Note: The walk departs from Potsdamer Platz, specifically on the south side of the square at the exit of the U2 subway station, next to Espresso House (Potsdamer Platz 10). It's a two-hour tour, led by the esteemed guide Nathaniel Flakin, organized by The Berliner magazine. The event is open for registration through Eventbrite.
