Skydiving, the exhilarating sport of leaping from an aircraft and freefalling through the air, has gained a reputation for both thrill and precision. For those ready to take the plunge, Skydive Orange offers an accelerated training program – Accelerated Freefall (AFF) – to help newcomers experience the rush of solo skydiving safely and efficiently.

Entering the Sky: The Initial Leap

The AFF program begins with intensive ground training designed to familiarize students with the fundamentals of skydiving, including body positioning, parachute deployment, and landing techniques. This groundschool, led by qualified USPA-rated AFF instructors, ensures students are well-prepared for their first solo jump.

Soaring the Skies: Freefall and Parachute Deployment

Upon completion of groundschool, weather permitting, students transition to the skies for their initial jump. Accompanied by two certified AFF instructors, they will practice demonstrating stable body positioning, altitude awareness, and proper parachute deployment. As students progress through the program, their instructors gradually reduce assistance, giving them the opportunity to hone their skills and take control of their jumps.

Reaching New Heights: Achieving Solo Status

The AFF program consists of ground school training and seven levels, each designed to build upon the skills learned in the previous level. Students must demonstrate mastery of the necessary skills to move from one level to the next. Once they have successfully completed all levels, they will have earned their USPA A License, allowing them to take to the skies on their own.

Is AFF Right For You?

If you're seeking greater responsibility, looking to become a skydiver, or simply intrigued by the sport, AFF may be the perfect fit. Prospective students must be at least 18 years old, weigh no more than 225 pounds, and be reasonably fit and healthy. With a passion for safety, Skydive Orange has led thousands of students through the AFF program and played a key role in its development by the United States Parachute Association. Many of these students have continued their skydiving journey, even going on to become instructors themselves.
