The Foundation: Diane and Scott Scheffler
Born and raised in New Jersey (Diane in Park Ridge and Scott in Englewood Cliffs), Scott and Diane started their family in the Garden State. It was there, in New Jersey, where Scott taught his kids how to swing a golf club under the cover of darkness at the Bergen Community College golf course. "The cops would kick us off, and we'd come back on, then the cops would kick us off again," Scott recalls with a chuckle. One day, the course manager finally agreed to watch for a minute, and they never looked back.
When Scottie was six, the Schefflers moved from Montvale, New Jersey to Dallas, Texas due to Diane's job. "They took a major risk moving the whole family across the country," Scottie admits. "We were 8, 6, 4 and 2 when we moved, so it was a big adjustment, especially with the older kids in school." While Diane climbed the professional ladder, working for law firms such as Skadden, Thompson & Knight LLP, Troutman Sanders LLP, and Foley Hoag LLP, Scott served as the primary caregiver, a role Scottie says he appreciated growing up.
The Partner in Crime: Meredith Scheffler
Scottie and Meredith met at Highland Park High School. Meredith describes Scottie as a humble, down-to-earth guy who didn't let success change who he was. They dated long-distance through college and tied the knot in December 2020. In May 2024, they welcomed their first child, a son named Bennett.
The Sisterhood: Callie, Molly, and Sara
Scottie has three sisters: Callie, Molly, and Sara. Callie, the eldest, attended Texas A&M University and now works as a commercial real estate agent at Sensato Development. Molly, another sister, works for the PGA Tour as a communications specialist, recently being promoted to "Specialist, Impact Storytelling." Sara, the youngest, recently married Culver Sumner. Notably, Callie caddied for Scottie at the 2016 U.S. Open when he was competing as an amateur. The Scheffler sisters are typically private and do not seek the limelight but remain an integral part of their brother's life.
