The Gerdau Minas women's volleyball team was presented to their enthusiastic fans in Bahia, Brazil on August 16, 2023. The event marked a new chapter for the team, with several new additions and a change in leadership.
Despite their absence, the Brazilian national team members Julia Kudiess and Giovana Guimarães were missed at the event. Both players were unable to attend due to their commitments with the national team. Similarly, Ana Luiza was not present as she had won a gold medal with the U23 national team at the Junior Pan American Games in Asunción the previous Friday.
The team's new head coach, Lorenzo Pintus, was announced in August 2025, succeeding Nicola Negro, who ended his tenure after more than two thousand days leading the team. Pintus expressed his ambition for the team, stating, "We want to win."
The new season sees the return of libero Nyeme, who was reported by O TEMPO Sports to be joining the team this season, but as of the event, she had not yet joined. In her absence, Larissa Fortes is filling the libero position.
The team has welcomed several new players this season, including spiker Ana Luiza Rudiger, middle blocker Julia Koehler, setter Julia Nowicka, and opposite Maria Khaletskaya. The team also includes well-known players such as Thaisa, Julia Kudiess, Giovana Guimarães, Pri Daroit, Glayce Kelly, Amanda Marques, Fran Tomazoni, and Larissa Fortes.
However, Thaisa was also absent due to a prior commitment, leaving the team eager for her return. Despite the absences, the team's spirit was high, and fans are looking forward to seeing the new additions and the continued success of their beloved team.
Although Thaisa was unable to attend due to a prior commitment, the team is excited about their return. The new season of Minas Tennis Club's women's volleyball team incorporates both new and experienced players, making it an exciting time for sports enthusiasts.
