In the world of photography and filmmaking, anticipation is building for the upcoming National Geographic documentary, "Love+War". Directed by Oscar-winning filmmakers Jimmy Chin and Chai Vasarhelyi, known for their work on Free Solo and The Rescue, this documentary premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on August 6, 2025, with tickets going on sale from August 25, 2025. The New York premiere is scheduled for September 20, 2025, at Metrograph theater, followed by a post-screening conversation with Addario and director Chai Vasarhelyi.

"Love+War" offers an intimate look into the life and career of renowned photojournalist Lynsey Addario. Known for her fearless coverage of conflict zones, Addario has spent over two decades documenting the human cost of war in various countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Darfur, and Libya. The documentary follows her as she documents the war in Ukraine while reflecting on her career.

The film provides a glimpse into the personal stakes of Addario's work, as she often leaves her family behind for extended periods to witness and record history. A newly released clip from the documentary shows Addario and her team taking cover during an attack in Ukraine, with locals continuing their daily routines despite the danger.

The documentary is associated with photography-related documentaries such as "Photographer" and "The Wild Ones". It runs approximately 95 minutes and is anticipated to be one of the most anticipated photography-related documentaries of the year.

In addition to the documentary, Kalum Carter, a photographer, filmmaker, creative director, and writer with over 10 years of experience in visual storytelling, has been making waves in the industry. Carter blends a deep understanding of both contemporary and historical works and has a strong focus on photography books, curation, and photo editing. Carter writes about photography and filmmaking, interviewing industry professionals, showcasing emerging talent, and offering in-depth analyses of the art form.
