Expert Tennis Commentator Becker, Dispatched to Wimbledon from Milan for TV Coverage
London (dpa) - Tennis legend Boris Becker won't be gracing our screens as a TV expert at the grand Wimbledon celebration in 2025. Instead, Becker will provide commentary for Sky Italia from Milan, as he's been doing for the past two years [1],[4].
Christian-Oliver Moser, Becker's lawyer, revealed that while there's strong interest from various TV stations for the tennis pro to join their teams starting from next year, Becker won't be on-site at Wimbledon in 2025 [2].
The Grand Slam commencement is set for June 30th. After serving time in prison for false insolvency statements in late 2022, Becker hasn't been allowed to step foot in England, preventing him from working as a TV expert for the BBC at Wimbledon [1].
Last year, Becker shared his intentions to make a comeback to Wimbledon in 2025, expressing a deep passion for the tournament [3]. It's like the tournament's in his DNA, he said at the Laureus World Sports Awards in Madrid.
