Believe: Three-Year-Old Son of Make Believe Steps Up for Toughest Test in Cesarewitch Trial Handicap

Belgravian, a three-year-old horse trained by Andrew Balding, is set to take on his most challenging test to date in the Cesarewitch Trial Handicap at Newmarket. The selection, who has been impressing audiences with his recent performances, is a son of Make Believe.

In his seven starts, Belgravian has been placed on four occasions, including a string of victories in his last five starts. This impressive streak has seen him climb up the ratings from 67 to 96.

Belgravian's latest victory came at Goodwood, where he won eased down by almost five lengths. This success followed wins at Doncaster, Haydock, and Goodwood last month, with the horse improving his marks from 73, 79, and 86 respectively.

The addition of cheekpieces has been beneficial for Belgravian, particularly in staying trips. This young horse has shown remarkable improvement, moving up the ranks with ease.

Despite his recent success, Belgravian has had near misses at York and Chester, and was caught close home at Ascot. However, these setbacks have not deterred the horse or his rider, Callum Rodriguez, who has been praised for his excellent performance aboard Belgravian.

The Cesarewitch itself next month is now looking like a likely target for Belgravian, with the horse now generally second favourite for the prestigious event. If Belgravian can continue his impressive form, he could well be a contender for the top prize.

Meanwhile, another horse making waves in the racing world is Mogul, the giant horse favoured to win the Ayr Gold Cup at the Ayr racing days on Saturday. Mogul is a horse to watch, and will undoubtedly provide a strong challenge for any horse looking to take the top spot.
