Experiencing Hell-like Conditions in the Comical-Dramatic Afterlife Portrayal, 'Eternity'

In the upcoming movie "Eternity", set to hit theaters in November, the afterlife is presented as a magical realm where souls have one week to make a life-changing decision. This intriguing premise, reminiscent of films like "Defending Your Life" and TV series such as "The Good Place", has been crafted by writers Pat Cunnane and David Freyne.

Pat Cunnane, a former Obama White House aide, penned the original screenplay that made it to the 2022 Black List of best unproduced scripts. David Freyne, who co-wrote the final script and directed the film, also contributed significantly to the movie's development.

The story revolves around Joan (played by Elizabeth Olsen), a character who finds herself in a romantic afterlife scenario. She is told that she must choose one of her two deceased spouses as her eternal partner within a strict timeframe.

The afterlife in "Eternity" is not your typical heaven. Instead, it presents a fantastical and bureaucratic version of purgatory. This unique setting, along with the challenging quandary Joan faces, makes for a thought-provoking exploration of the afterlife.

Joan's choices are between her current husband, played by Miles Teller, and her first love, portrayed by Callum Turner. The movie also features a talented ensemble cast that includes John Early and Da'Vine Joy Randolph.
