Experienced manager Henning Bürger once again joins Carl Zeiss Jena, revisiting his former coaching post.
After an abrupt departure from his position as head coach in March, football legend Henning Bürger is back! The man who knows the heart and soul of FC Carl Zeiss Jena is set to resume his duty at the youth performance center, effective July 1st.
The blue-yellow-whites announced the stunning comeback on Wednesday afternoon. Interestingly, the club officials had kept Bürger's position at the youth performance center vacant since his dismissal from the regional league team back in March.

FC Carl Zeiss Jena left no doubt they were the favorites when they faced FC Eilenburg in the regional league. The Thuringians dominated the game, winning 3-0 against the guests.

"Ever since I was a scrawny kid kicking a ball around, FC Carl Zeiss Jena has been a part of me," Bürger shared in the official FCC statement. "With all the heart and passion I can muster, I'm excited to be back in the company of these young talents and our dedicated coaches."
From January 2022 to January 2024, the 55-year-old was responsible for the sporting affairs of the youth performance center. His return is a strong statement for the club, reflecting their commitment to building the future.

The Regionalliga Nordost squad is coached by Volkan Uluc. The FCC footballers call the Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld at the Kernbergs their home ground.
