AFI Announces New Album and Tour, Releases New Song with Stunning Music Video

AFI, the iconic American rock band, has announced their upcoming album, Silver Bleeds The Black Sun..., set to be released on August 3, 2023, via Run For Cover Records. This will be the band's first album in four years, following the release of Bodies in 2021.

The new album is accompanied by a music video for the song Behind The Clock, which was directed by Gilbert Trejo. Trejo, known for his work with Jerry Cantrell and Jack White, has created a visually stunning and intimate video that showcases the artistic expression of AFI's frontman, Davey Havok. In fact, Havok has praised Trejo's work, commenting on the video.

The music video features Havok with a large and brand new moustache, adding an intriguing element to the video's aesthetic. Trejo himself describes the Behind The Clock video as a world that most artists don't usually cut to, marrow deep.

In addition to the new album and single, AFI has announced a North American headline tour that will start at The Sylvee in Madison, Wisconsin on September 30. The tour will conclude at the Soma in San Diego, California on November 5. AFI is also scheduled to appear at the Corona Capital festival in Mexico City on November 16 and will perform live at the Four Chord Music Festival in Washington, Pennsylvania on September 14.

Stephen Hill, a journalist from Louder, described AFI's album Bodies as being "as 80s as necking a bottle of Babysham while watching Miami Vice." With Silver Bleeds The Black Sun..., fans can expect a continuation of AFI's unique blend of punk, new wave, and gothic rock.

Silver Bleeds The Black Sun... is available for preorder, and with the release of Behind The Clock, fans are eagerly awaiting the full album. With Trejo's impressive direction and AFI's signature sound, this new album promises to be a must-listen for fans of the band.
