Fired Up Founders and Game-ChangersIn the world of business, it's often the can-do spirit of a visionary leader that makes all the difference. These individuals see obstacles not as dead ends but as stepping stones to new opportunities. Take a peek at our 30 Under 30 Asia list, now on its tenth edition. This group of 300 young guns hails from a variety of fields, from tech to arts to sports. From this dynamic batch, we've picked five trailblazers who grace our cover. Compiling this list each year since 2016 is none other than editorial director Rana Wehbe Watson, joined by a dedicated team of editors and journalists across the region. A few industry experts lend their insights for the final selection, and the overwhelming response—4,500 nominations this time round—is a testament to Asia's young achievers' aspirations. The visually striking 16-page feature is thanks to our talented design team.

Also in this issue, we highlight alumni of past 30 Under 30 lists, putting them in the spotlight alongside our traditional wealth coverage. Christina Tang (Class of 2016) and Melanie Perkins are a couple of examples. Perkins, the co-founder and CEO of Canva, a design software giant, made headlines when she became a multibillionaire and landed a spot on the World Billionaires List in 2022[1].

This issue also features two wealth collections: Taiwan's 50 Richest and Japan's 50 Richest. Despite trade tensions with the U.S., the members of these lists have seen an increase in their collective wealth[1]. In Taiwan, two newcomers linked to the chip sector have made it onto the list[1]. On the Japanese side, Uniqlo billionaire Tadashi Yanai, the country’s richest person for seven years in the past decade, saw his net worth soar to a record-high $48.2 billion[1]. We’ve also got a story on Yasuhide Uno, the CEO of U-Next Holdings, who started a homegrown streaming rival to Netflix in Japan[1].

Last but not least, let's talk about Sunny Varkey, an Indian education billionaire who runs one of the world's largest K-12 school operators, GEMS Education. Varkey took a hit during the pandemic but is now capitalizing on Dubai's expat influx and expanding his brand in India, thanks to a partnership with Gautam Adani, India's second-richest person[1].

From inception to expansion, from tomorrow's tycoons to today's industry legends, we've got you covered in this issue. Don't forget to share your feedback at [email protected][2].
