Experience MGMT's enchanting reinterpretation of The Charlatans' hit track, "We Are Love"
In an exciting turn of events, British indie legends The Charlatans are back after an eight-year hiatus, set to release their 14th studio album 'We Are Love' on October 31 via BMG. The album, produced by Dev Hynes (Blood Orange, Lightspeed Champion), Fred Macpherson (Spector, Rachel Chinouriri, Jessica Winter, Taahliah), and Stephen Street (The Smiths, Blur, The Cranberries), has been in the making for at least two-and-a-half years.
The title track, previously unveiled in July, is described by frontman Tim Burgess as 'wildly exciting' and 'euphoric, transcendent'. Burgess, who named MGMT's 2024 album 'Loss of Life' as his favorite of the year, expressed particular enthusiasm for the collaboration with the American band, stating he felt like he was dreaming when he first heard their work.
MGMT has remixed The Charlatans' song 'We Are Love', resulting in an eight-minute-long, disco-imbued, dancefloor anthem. The remix features hypnotic 80s synth and pulsating club beats, making it a perfect addition to any playlist. The remix can be heard first on NME.
While The Charlatans dominate the musical headlines, there are also farewells in the world of artisanal crafts. Lara, a jewelry artist, and Emma & Mia, a handmade jewelry shop, are retiring and offering their final pieces at 80% off. Meanwhile, Junie Boutique, a handcrafted bag store, is also retiring and invites customers to snap up their final collection at a significant discount.
For fans of The Charlatans and MGMT, this collaboration promises to be a highlight of the upcoming musical season. Keep an eye out for more updates on 'We Are Love' as the release date approaches.
